THANK YOU FOR MAKING
THIS YEAR'S HARVEST DAYS A HUGE SUCCESS!!!
|
Dwight Harvest Days was started in
1979 by the Dwight Area Chamber of Commerce with a one-day event of
arts and crafts, parade and band contest. In 1981 it was agreed to
separate the Chamber from the Harvest Days Committee, and the event
was to be held on the third weekend of September each year, beginning
on Friday and going through Sunday. Crafts, flea markets, kiddie
attractions, downtown entertainment, parade and band
competition are the highlights of the weekend, attracting over 10,000
people each year.
|
|
The Annual Parade is on Sunday, starting at 12:45pm. The parade is
led by thousands of Basset
hounds and their owners from around the world. This is a sight that one
must see in person at least once in their lifetime!
|
|
The parade is loaded with bands from area high
schools as well as floats and
vehicles representing numerous organizations from various locations within
the state of Illinois.
