Waddles off at GABR Park on W. Mazon Ave.
A NEW ROUTE IS PLANNED FOR THE 2016 HARVEST DAYS PARADE due to construction this fall on Dwight’s downtown railroad crossings and streets. The 2016 parade will line up behind the former Coils building on W. Waupansie St. From this location, parade entries will exit from the staging area and head east on Waupansie St. to Prairie Ave. where the parade will turn right and head south to Mazon Ave. As in the past, the judging area will be set up on the corner of Prairie Ave. and Mazon Ave. From Prairie Ave., the parade will turn right on to Mazon Ave. and continue west to Waupansie St., turning right, and ending back at the grass lot behind Coils. The total parade route is 1.2 miles and the new shorter route, along with nice wide streets with no railroad tracks to cross, is expected to keep the parade entries closer together. This year’s parade is scheduled to step off at 12:45 p.m. Sunday, September 18, and will again be led by the Guardian Angel Basset Rescue Waddle.
